07Sep EA’s Boogie Announced For Nintendo DS And PS2

Boogie, the dance game launched by EA in August for Wii, is taking its act on the road again. When it was released, Boogie was introduced by EA as a party-game in which the player may impersonate one of the five distinct characters or “Boogs”: Bubba, Jet, Julius, Kato and Lea. Characters can have their clothing, shoes, skin, hair, and accessories customized and the game can be played in karaoke or dancing mode. The game features 39 covers from which the users can choose their favourite tunes.
Altough some of the game critics praised the game as a fun an entertaining experience, others had rated it as boring.
Despite the critics, EA announced it will release the game as a Nintendo DS version that features the first 3D gameplay on the handheld system.
According to EA all the new modes in the game can be experienced in full 3D using special glasses packed into the retail box.
The Nintendo DS version introduces new gameplay modes and mini-games not found in the Wii version such as DS Download Play and Multi-Card Play, three main dancing gameplay modes including Copycat, Freestyle and Choreography as well as more than 10 mini-games.
Boogie is also shipping as the PS2 version, although it’s unclear how the game will be played. Also the DS will not be getting the video creation mode which will be on the PS2 version and is already on the Wii version.
Players can also dive into the career mode for a deeper experience as they embark on a quest to become the Boogie Master.
Also Boogie features new versions of tracks made popular by hit bands such as The Jackson 5, Kool & The Gang, Black Eyed Peas and Britney Spears. Both versions are planned to hit the store shelves by holiday 2007
